Kim's breadth of experience ensures she excels at translating complex theories into practical skills for her students, with a strong focus on trauma-informed practice, mental health, compliance, and inclusive service delivery. Deeply committed to a learner-centred approach, Kim guides students to become confident, ethical professionals ready to lead and innovate within the community services sector.
With over 20 years of experience across health, education, and community services, Kim always keeps client needs at the forefront of her teaching and leadership. She draws on her frontline work as a Lifeline Shift Supervisor and Trainer, supporting crisis counselling teams and delivering vital mental health training as well as executive leadership roles, including Executive Manager – Child Safety and General Manager at Tweddle Child and Family Health, where she championed safeguarding, organisational transformation, and collaborative service improvement.
Kim has over 15 years of experience teaching community services courses in higher education and vocational settings, including roles as a Sessional Lecturer and Instructional Designer at RMIT and Victoria University. She has also designed and delivered engaging face-to-face workshops in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), trauma-informed care, and compliance. Her commitment to the sector is underpinned by comprehensive qualifications, including a Bachelor of Human Services, postgraduate studies in Child and Family Practice, qualifications in Education, and a recently completed MBA.
As a lifelong learner, Kim is passionate about supporting others’ growth, drawing on her own educational journey and dedication to walking alongside students to help them achieve their professional goals and make a meaningful difference in their communities.
